The U.S. dollar traded higher against other major currencies in late European trading Monday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.3564, down from $1.3601 late Friday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3568.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Friday, included 118.78 Japanese yen, up from 118.74; 1.2105 Swiss francs, up from 1.2072; and 1.1222 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1218.
The British pound traded at $1.9998, down from $2.0036.
In midday New York trading, the dollar bought 118.69 yen and 1.2100 Swiss francs, while the pound was worth $2.0007. Read more
